Hi trying to find any information on Tom Watson, born 1868 in York, married Florence King 26.1.1890. They had six children Edith the oldest born 1891 was my grandmother, Tom was born in 1893, died in 1914 aged 22. he was an able seaman and was sunk aboard the H.M.S 'Good Hope' in the South Pacific during the first world war.George was born 1895, Florence born 1896 Hannah born 1899 and Rebecca born 1901. Tom my G.Grandfather was a printer compostitor in York, believed to work for the York Evening Press. I believe his wife Florence King was born in Portsmouth 1871 and she had a brother George born 1869 also in Portsmouth and a sister Mary born 1878 in Darlington. Not sure but I think George King married Tom Watsons sister Louise in 1895. Tom watson father was a William Watson also born in York about 1842 he was an engine driver his wife was Hannah (no maiden name) was a laundress, apparently she did the Lord Mayor of York laundry for quite a few years. Tom Watson had eight siblings, Arthur born 1886, William born 1869, John born 1870. Louise born 1875, Ellen born 1877, Ada born 1878, Maria born 1881, Gertude born 1883. According to family its believed that we should have relatives in Scotland, apparently my grandmother used to go and stay with them, but no one remembers where! There must be other Watson desendents from this line out there. Any one with any information please get in touch. |
