Thomas and Sara (Duncan) immergrated with their children, oldest was William (Bill) born 1895, Ballymena. Thomas (born 1867) Blaris, Lisborn and Sara married 1894 in the Parish of Broughshane. Thomas's father was John Whitla (born 1845) and his mother was Alice (Ritchie). They married 1867, The Cathedral Lisburn. One other son (James) of John and Alice was born 1869 and died Blaris Lisburn area 1940. No other information of James and other siblings are known. Alice died 1915, also in the Lisburn area. Johns father was Robert Whitla born c1820-30. Both John and Robert are listed as weavers in the Lisburn area. Also linked to the Whitla family is Ellan Mulholland, Aunt, aged 60. Recorded as being in Thomas and Sara's house, Ballymena on the night of the 1901 cenus. Possibly linked to an Ellan Mulholland, aged 75, buried 1873 at COI Broughshane. Next to Ellans headstone is an Ellan Whitla, daughter of William, buried 1884 aged 24. Ellan Whitla's headstone was erected in her memory by lady O'Neill and Lady Elizabeth Cochrane. Any information or link between the Mulholland and Whitla familywould be appreciated. Searching for any information that can help link the NZ Whitla family with surviving family members in Ireland
