Ann Weldon I am looking for info. on my g g grandfather James Casement, born circa 1830 he was a Liverpool Pilot and married Sarah Worthington. I was told by my grandmother that there was a link with Sir Roger Casement. |

Dear Ann, I dont want to burst your bubble but there will be no link to Sir Roger unless James was born in Ireland. I was told the same story by my grandmother and am finding similar dificulties in tracing any further back than 1854 because my 3G Grandfather was serving with the British Imperial Army of Occupation in Ireland until he was killed by the Irish. my 2G Grandfather who was very young at th time and his mother Sarah, were sent back to England to live with relatives in the Andover area of Hampshire. To this day, the Irish part of the family will have nothing to do with the English half, Regards, jim ramsbottom |
