Hi, I am trying to trace information on Harry LEES born 1864 in Birmingham (unable to locate a birth certificate). Harry only appears on the census from 1891 after his marriage to Sarah Ann Wynn and is shown on the 1901 census as being a silversmith gold. The only other snippet of info is from Harry and Sarah's marriage certificate his father was Thomas LEES and he was a glass worker.

Hi Kerry

Maybe we are distantly related - my Lees family come from Dudley/ Worcester area. Samuel Lees was my g-g.grandfather b. 1861, his father was Joseph Lees b. 1834 in Stourbridge area. There were lots of glassblowers in the area as this is where some of the French Hugonauts escaped to in the late 1600s. They were highly respected trades people, along with silk weavers etc.
For Harry, you could try HENRY when looking for a birth certificate.

Good hunting!
