hi there i wonder if anyone can help my grandmother was born jane ferry her parents were george ferry and ann thompson. she was born in 1896 in durham. however when she got amrried to my grandfather albert crampton she is on her marriage certificate as jennie white ferry! we are trying to find out why she changed to jennie and where the name white came from! one possibility for the change to jennie is that she had an older sister also called jane. her brothers and sisters were: jane b.1871 frances b.1875 susannah b.1877 sarah b.1880 and then there is an 11 year gap! george b.1891 william b.1894 jane/jennie b.1896 although on her marriage certificate it says that george ferry is her father, it is possibly in terms of the age gap that maybe the 3 younger ones are the children of the eldest jane because it puzzles me as to why there are 2 daughters called jane! if anyone recognises any of the family from their tree, please contact me as this is one mystery i can't seem to solve! thanks jenny
