SMITH / WALLACE It's bad enough researching Smiths but when they suddenly change their names to Wallace for no apparent reason. Can anyone help. George Smith born c. early 1850's. Sons James Smith b. 1875/6 and Daniel Smith b. 1877/78. In 1881 Census Daniel, visitor, staying with James Howell and daughter Mary Baker, Isle of Wight. 1991 Census James & Daniel, acrobats, with circus run by Harvey family, Sherston Magna. 1899 Daniel Smith married Annie Emily Massey, had Daniel Geo. Smith 1901, Annie Lilian Smith 1903, 1907 Charles Alfred Wallace, Joseph Albert Wallace 1911 (my father). There was only one marriage. Annie died 1925 and Daniel 1930. Does this ring any bells for anyone, if so would love to hear from you. Sheila |
