My wife is interested in the Surname ALMOND in Sheffield, for one of my ancestors:- WILLIAM HENRY ALMOND b.1851 in Sheffield, an Artist. spouse MARY b.1853 in Dublin. The information which we have researched on the above individual ancestor is as follows:- Found on the 1881 Census Return for Sheffield, residing at 12, Spring Street as a lodger at the house of Mary Taylor:- WILLIAM ALMOND-Lodger-age 30, occupation an Artist, born Sheffield. MARY ALMOND -Lodger-age 28 --------------------, born Dublin. MARY A.ALMOND -Lodger-age 9 Scholar born Sheffield. WILLIAM ALMOND Jnr. -age 1 born London. Census Reference:- 4644/25/17 Page 36327. A further reference to William is found on the adoption papers of his Grandson Charles Henry Almond, dated 5 August, 1927, in Bristol. On the entry for 'all known relatives' of Charles, it states:- WILLIAM - Grandfather - was 'last heard of in Australia'? PLEASE REPLY TO [email protected] Regards, Jane Abbots (mother DOROTHY ALMOND).
