Earliest record of CURSLEY? British History Online, Churcham, Gloucestershire. "Just over the boundary of Churcham manor the Gloucester-Ross road crossed a stream by Cursley's bridge recorded in 1522". This quote is from the abstract of the will of Robert Cooke. chaplain, vicar of Churcham, Co Gloucester, dated 8th June 1522. "To the mending of the highway from Curseley's Brigge forwards John Hewitts House 6s 8d" "Proved 28th July 1522 by the proctor of the executors" Gloucester records 13/7 Hockaday abstracts Churcham 152 Cursley's farm still exits and is now known as Beauchamp House.
