Hi Brenda,
I know it is a long time since you posted your message but I have only just found it as I have not been on the site for long.
I dont know if we are connected somewhere along the line but I have a John Mather who married an Isobel Walker. I have no dates for anything on them. They are my GGGG Grandparents. They had my GGG Grandmother, Jane, about 1801. She married James Smith. They both died in 1858
I'm not sure if any of this helps or is even relavent to you but I thought I would let you know anyway.
Cheers...........Denise

I'm trying to trace all my Mather relatives (and, by extension, the Walkers). My granda was George Miles Mather, born around 1878 somewhere in the county of Durham. Grandma was born Elisa (or Eliza) Walker in Houghton-le-Spring in 1880. Granda was a miner and they moved around a lot working in different collieries, as they did in those days, so my mother and her siblings were born in various places. My mother (Elizabeth - known as Betty) was born in Shotton in 1908. As far as I remember, her brothers and sisters were: Tommy, Isabella, Bob, William (Billy), George, and then Eliza (who died at the age of about 14), Annie. Does this ring any bells with anyone. Please contact me if so. Thank you, Brenda Thomas Bergerre
