I may be grabbing at straws but the story u tell sounds a bit familiar My Ggrandad was smuggled out of ireland because of a feud with a neighbouring family. his name was james and he married a Lee (who i was named after). I know it was a very big family with many children, who were all dispatched to england some useing different names to keep them safe. The younger kids went with an older sibling. I am still gathering info so i dont know any names of kids. I was told it was waterford co' cork where the family originated and they had ties to castle keefe where ancesters used to live. My family were farmers so was my grandad, jack, who married florance maria leeds, they had 2 kids, james, my dad and patience. My ggrandad was brought over by his sister, who worked as a maid in Eastwell manor Ashford Kent and married a barrister. That is as much info' as i have at the time of contacting you. I dont know if this is of any help to you but you never know. As i said it was a huge family and they were spread to the 4 corners of england ,wales and scotland. I do know the feud was with a family called Beresford. Good luck with your searches. regards Lee (keefe) (my father dropped the O') |
