Hi, have a long line of Lester's from Liverpool, looking for anyone else who is tracing/researching the same name,from Liverpool from 1860's through to 1910, cheers. |

I have also a long line of Lesters from Liverpool and the Wirral.I have got as far back as Thorley Lester, Master Pilot, born c.1791.Then the children of two of his sons(John and William) married.Their names were Robert Taggart Lester and Martha Lester.Their eldest daughter Mary married George Hill and they were my great grandparents,Are any of these your ancestors? |

Dear Silly billy, My great grandfather was Arthur Lester. He was an actor born in Liverpool in 1848. He married Martha M who was born in Middlesex. Their children were William, Harry, Teresa M and Marie. Problem is I think Arthur changed his surname. Rumour has it that it was Smith! Arthur died 1914 in Moss Side Manchester. Any Connections? Dear Avril, Thanks for your reply. I don't recognize your relatives. Problem is, My g Grandfather was Arthur Lester who was an actor born 1848-1914 and I was told he had changed his Surname ?from Smith. He married Martha M and their children were William, Harry(my grandfather) Teresa and Marie. He was born in Liverpool and then lived in Manchester where he died . Bye Val |
