Hello I'm trying to locate my husband's Shelley family who originated from Staffordshire, mainly in Stone. I have a Robert Shelley (b about 1781 in Tutbury, Staffordshire), and his occupation was 'Coal Merchant'. He married a Sarah Pyot/Pyatt (b about 1781 in Sandon, Staffordshire) on 26 Feb 1816, in Sandon, Staffordshire. Sarah had her first child out of wedlock, named Thomas Pyatt Shelley (b June 1814 in Staffordshire - not known if Robert was his father. Occupation: writer/book keeper). Thomas Pyatt Shelley married a Frances FRITH. Robert and Sarah then had another five boys: Robert Shelley (b 1816, occupation: joiner/builder) who married Ann TURNER in 1849 in Stone. Joseph Shelley (b 1819, in possibly Armitage, Staffordshire. Occupation: Cordwainer) John Shelley (b 1821 in Staffordshire. Occupation: Cordwainer) William Shelley (b 1823 in Staffordshire. Occupation: Cordwainer) George Shelley (b 1826 in Staffordshire. Occupation was possibly a grocer) If anybody out there has Shelley/Shelly ancestors that came from Stone, Staffordshire, I'd really appreciate from you. Many thanks Rachel Shelley rachel dot shelley at gmail dot com
