Hi everyone, I hope somebody can help me with this..as it has become a real brick wall in my research: I am looking for information on the Harvey family who lived at 63 Mawney Road, Romford, Essex. My great nan's name was GERTRUDE AMELIA HARVEY who was born in Romford on 27th October 1917 to a John Harvey & Daisy Elizabeth Harvey (nee Wilsher). She had a brother called Frederick Harvey and two sisters who died from Diptheria at a very young age. Diptheria also took the life of Daisy (her mother) and she went into service as a nursery maid when she was 14. Daisy Elizabeth Harvey (nee Wilsher) 's family may have come from Ireland (poss Limerick). My nan can remember her mum (Gertrude) mentioning an 'Irish Nanna'...we think this was daisy's mum. Gertrude married Frederick William Shelley (27/04/14-2002) on the 29th October 1938 in Romford, Essex. They had two children Evelyn Lillian Shelley (04/04/39) who is my dad's mum & Michael William Shelley (c1949). Gertrude died in 1974.
