I am trying to find out more about my grandmothers' family. Her full name was Lillie Euphemia Alice Dickson but she was always known as Alice. She was born in 1894 on Portsea Island, Hampshire. Her parents were Robert William Dickson and Alice Dickson nee Andrews. I know that Robert was a Stoker RN and that he had died before my grandmother married in 1919 (presumably during WWI). For reasons unknown there was a serious argument in the family and my grandmother never spoke to my mother of her parents and never mentioned if she had any siblings. My mother was born in Portsmouth and presumably lived near her grandmother but never met her. I would love to find out about that side of the family and would welcome to hear from anyone whose family tree includes Robert & Alice Dickson. |
