Searching for the following family: Richard Mouse born c1810 probably Middlesex. Married Hannah, born c1814 in Hertfordshire and married 4 February 1839. Richard was a widower so the first four or five children are probably with his first wife, whom I have yet to trace but I think her christian name was Anna / Hannah. These are the 10 issue I have traced so far: Richard Henry 20/8/1828 (Died young) Benjamin 19/2/1831 Eliza 22/7/1832 (Died young) William Robert 4/2/1837 Joseph Richard 2/11/1839 Richard John 9/5/1841 Eliza Esther 12/12/1847 (my gg.grandmother) James 29/9/1850 Henry Thomas 11/8/1852 George 19/12/1853 I believe there was also another daughter after this, Sarah Martin Mouse. Baptisms took place at St Thomas Charterhouse, Spa Fields Lady Huntingdon's Connection, and St Luke, Old Street. All the children were born in St Luke's, Clerkenwell, Middlesex. I have traced children and grandchildren for most if not all of Eliza's siblings. The names are used many times amongst the descendants, and there seems to be more than one connection with Hertfordshire, including the towns of Ware and Standen. Absolutely any information on these would be gratefully received. Eliza married William Ludgate Edmonds and had six children before dying in 1895, at which point her husband went to live with my g.grandmother Ada and her family in Walthamstow. It is possible that my Richard Mouse is the one shown on the 1841 Census as being a pupil at the Licensed Victuallers School in Lambeth, Surrey. A Joseph and Mary Mouse are shown on the ame census, with 11 year old daughter Adelaide, living in Wood Street, St Alphage Sion College, Middlesex. It says Joseph Mouse was born outside the county. |
