Just wondering if there is any Ozzies searching for Bourkes born in the Booral/Stroud area. Thomas Bourke sent from Ireland in year 1834 and arrived in Oz 1835 on ship 'Forth'. If so maybe we could help one another. Regards Sharyn Smith PS 18th Nov Surely there must be other people out there searching for Bourke

Hi

this might not be of any help but my grandmother's sister married a Bourke from that area.
Details are:

Mary Ann (Doll) Priestley married William E. Bourke (known always by our family as Joe) in Taree district in 1899 (I believe they could have married in Tuncurry/Forster as Mary Ann's family lived in Failford which was in the Stroud District at that time). Edward W. Bourke (Joe) died in Sydney on 5th January 1956. Doll & Joe had 7 children. They were all born, with the exception of their 1st Child Catherine, in the Nabiac/Failford area. Later moved to live in Milsons Point in Sydney.

Even though I was extremely young I remember Doll & Joe quite well from my childhood.

If you think you have a connection contact me.
