My mother, MAY BARTHOLOMEW, born 1902 in EXETER was brought up by ROSE PEARCEY and her husband FREDERICK BASTON from BUDLEIGH SALTERTON. Her mother's name was EMILY BARTHOLOMEW from ROTHERHAM, YORKSHIRE. She was unmarried, and not allowed to keep her baby. I have found lots of EMILY BARTHOLOMEWS, but due to lack of information about her I don't know which is the right one. Could any descendants of ROSE or FRED'S family throw any light on who EMILY BARTHOLOMEW'S family might have been. We could have aunts or uncles or cousins that we know nothing about. EMILY was supposed to have married after my mother was born and then emigrated to Australia or Canada. Here's hoping. Regards, Dorothy |
