Trying to find Parsons

Virginia Report 27 Mar 2005 05:34

Looking for descendants of John Parsons (1841, Great Berkhamstead) and Jane McLarnon or McLaren. Their children were all born in Ireland, but in the 1891 census, John is widowed and living with his two youngest Sarah(1883) and Henry(1879) at the Hope and Anchor in North Mymms (run by John's widowed and remarried mother). The other children were: Francis George (Frank)b. 1869, Harry, Robert John (1871), Rose Anne (1872) and Walter (1878). The boys were probably career Military/Navy. Robert John (my great-grandfather- see other posting) was in the Royal Marine Light Infantry. There are photos of the others in military uniform with wives - useful writing on the back says 'went to India and came back' Rose Ann Parsons was a nurse, possibly Matron. In 1901, she was working at the District Leeds General Infirmary. She married a Cars sometime before 1901 and either Patrick Constable or Samuel Harry Ellis in 1901. All leads joyfully received !
