Hi Gill,
I have a website and know of people who are research House in Dorset at Melcome Horsey and they should be able to help. Find me on Genesreunited or my website "Housefamilytree" at Y***** or G***** and email me direct. I can then put you in touch with the group.
Hope this helps.

Trying to find Dorothy HOUSE born in Harfoot Lane (near Melcome Horsey and Aller Hilton) about 1790. I have no idea who her parents were but she named her illegitimate daughters Francis and Elinora or Leonora. She never married but inherited from William BREWER of Chettle, to whom she was housekeeper, who acknowledged Leonora as his daughter in his will and left them both a small fortune. Francis was claimed to be the daughter of William BILES of Milborne St Andrew and, sadly, died in infancy. Dorothy spent her later years with Leonora and her farmer husband William BRYANT originally from Berwick Farm, Swyre.
