I am trying to trace relatives of any of my family. My Mother was Jane nee Wilson and my father was William Arthur Henry Kemp-Webster. My name is Carol Ann Hancock, I have one living brother William Charles Kemp-Webster and an older sister sadly now deceased, Mary Joyce. I am told that our name was not always Kemp-Webster, initially it was Kemp. This was the name of my grandfather as far as I am aware. The stroy goes that he deserted from the army, but upon the outbreak of the 1st World war he wished to re enlist and so changed his name to Kemp-Webster. My mother came from South Shields andwas in service, and my father came from York. He spent some time in the army, and several years working for the railway. My parents eventually divorced and and my mother remarried. My stepfathers name was Mark Potter Ellis. My father also remarried to a Margaret nee Kay. Can anybody help please |
