i would like to find out a little about my grandmothers father, william mcgrath, we believe he was born in county wexford ireland, and was catholic. my grandmothers mother was church of england, and my grandmother was told that his parents objected to them marrying. my grandmother remembers that as a child some of his relatives came to where she was living and wanted to take her to live with a childless couple(who she thinks lived in south shields) related to her father.she was not given away. my grandmother was told little else about him although she think that his fathers trade was something to do with wood export. my grandmother was born in 1919 and therefore we assume her father would have been born somewhere between 1890 and 1900. is there anyone who could help trace him?
