I'm David Michael Alsford. My mother was Violet Irene Lang, born about 1920 in Acton, London. Violet married my father David Walter Alsford in September 1941. As far as I know Violet had one younger sister and two or three older sisters. I was born in May 1944 in Ilfracoombe Devon and then immediately left Devon, with my mother, Violet, to live with the rest of our family in Shoreditch East London. My sister Patricia Irene Alsford was born in September 1942 in London's East End, she's a cockney. About 1949 my parents divorced. My father stayed in Shoreditch, but I do not know what happened to my mother,Violet. About 1958 Violet suddenly visited me at my adopted parents house in Finchley, North London. She told me she had remarried and her new name was now Violet Irene Pocock. And that was the last I ever heard or saw of my mother. I wonder where she is now? Can anyone help me locate my mum or at least throw some light on what happened to her? I would be very grateful. Thanks.
