Desperately seeking what happened to my great great grandmother Mary Dovaston Humphreys last heard of in 1869 when she was appearing on the music hall stage in Sheffield as Minnie Moscow a pianist. Divorced 1869/70 by Rev Henry Forster Welch for adultery with Edwin Arthur Perring. Her child Ernest Arthur Perring but christened Welch! was adopted by the Miller family whom she had left to care for him. Her father was Charles Milward Dovaston Humphreys surgeon and Coroner for Montgomeryshire in the 1850's. I believe she may have 'married' George Moscow a music hall vocalist and a child was born name?. She died in Liverpool 1871of smallpox . No trace thereafter of George or her child. HELP! |
