looking for information of my grandmothers family - her name was Doris May Brown (nee Osbourne) and her DOB is 16/07/18. Her father was John Osbourne and he was an electic bar conductor - he died before 1938 - but not sure of exact year! Mother was Elizabeth May Osbourne - I have two surnames though that she might be connected too - White and Hatter. Hatter was the jewish line of the family - but think that one of the daughters married out of the faith! White - I know I had an uncle Albie (Albert) and I remember being told when I was young that he work for rowntrees and was involved in the making of fruit polo's (not 100% sure if this is true tho!!). Also have the name Ernest Osbourne (who was a witness on wedding certificate - and was of same address - so I take it was her brother!!) Doris May Osbourne was born in Tottenham - London. My grandmother married my grandfather, William Brown - 29/04/38 at Granton Parish Church. She was a chocolate packer. They had 4 children - Betty (Elizabeth), Cathy (Catherine), Carol (Caroline - my mother) and Andrew. Any more info would be grateful. |
