Member Since: June 2004 Posts: 1 Send Message	Janet Dowie, My father was born in Barrow-in-Furness in 1933 and adopted by Thomas and Eleanor Dowie( his aunt and uncle)-his mother having died shortly after he was born.His surname was originally Parkinson and he may have had a sister called June Parkinson.I dont know his father's first name but he is believed to have become a member of the police force in Palestine in the late 1930s or 1940s. Would love to know if I have any cousins etc.
