I am trying to establish the connection between my Wagstaff family of Upper Caldecote and that of Beeston, both hamlets around theh parish of Northill, Bedfordshire. Albert Edwin Wagstaff died aged 90 at Beeston when I was a child living close to him. My mother (born a Wagstaff) was born at Upper Caldecote. Both of their fathers lived at Brookend, another hamlet of Northill and close to a parcel of land called Wagstaff's Field. Albert was twice married; had two children by his first marriage; the grandson (Brian) was living at Moggerhanger, the adjoining parish to Northill. The Wagstaffs of Northill came from Potton; having moved from Wilden during the 17th century. The Wagstaffs of Potton Manor were also part of the large Potton family. Any help would be appreciated. This is all part of my quest to trace all living descendants of John & Elizabeth Wagstaff of Northill which includes their Wagstaff descendants now living in Utah, W. Ausrtalia and Scotland. |
