David Report 9 May 2006 20:16

My name is David, I was adopted in 1965. My surname before I was adopted was Brown, believed to be passed down from my mother as she was only 15 years of age when I was born and obviously not married. I was born in the Croft Baker maternity Home in Cleethorpes, Lincolnshire on the 21st or the 23rd March (The exact date of my birth is not clear due to the confliction of dates between my birth certificate and adoption letter).

Croft Baker Mat Home no longer exists. The maternity wards moved to the new Grimsby Hospital (Diana Princess of Wales) many years ago. I am absolutely no use with adoption questions but I think you will find this the wrong board to be on. Living persons details or trying to find messages should not really be put on these boards. Try putting 'adoption' in the search box at the top of each of the boards where it says 'enter text'. This will bring up loads of threads on questions like this that have been asked before. You should get some good tips on where to search next. Kat:)

hi not sure if you have entered info in google which was sugested above but if you click this link www.quickbase.com or www.adoptiondatabase.org (to register) or copy and past it will take you to the adoption database uk site and there are some people searching for birth mothers, or birth mothers searching for there children that were born in croft baker. You can register on this site also and may get some results from there. Good luck
