Hi Can anyone visiting the Family Records Centre or the Public Record Office at Kew look for a naturalisation for me. FREDERIKA SOPHIA MARGARETHA GEYER (my great great grandmother) was born in Bavaria about 1844 (calculated from census and marriage certificate). She married Harry Roe (born Lowestoft, Suffolk) in Liverpool in 1870. A witness to the marriage was Maria K Geyer (her sister, I assume). Her father was named as George Geyer. I would love to know how a German girl ended up in Liverpool marrying a Suffolk man. I would be grateful for any help finding out more about Frederika. Sue |
