Janet

You haven't offended us.

If anyone has offended us, it is the person who started the thread in the first place, and has apparently never returned to see whether anyone helped her. And that is after several of us spent quite some time finding information.

Our advice to you though is to start your OWN thread

To do this, go back to the "index" screen for Records Office.

Look up towards the top, where you can see the title Records Office.

Next to that is Add Topic.

Click on that

type a heading (I would suggest using the name(s) of the people and a time period). Don't make it too long as some will not appear if you do that.

Then type your message detailing what you know and what you want found in the message box.

Click submit

You will have a much much better chance to get responses than by adding on to an old thread like this.

It actually isn't a good idea to piggy back onto someone else's thread, becasue your request just gets lost.

Hope to see your thread soon

WHO dragged this one out of the archives???????

Incidentally, it seems that all the work on this one was completely wasted, as the woman who posted the request didn't have the decency to acknowledge the replies.............

Janet

you really should have started your own thread rather than piggy backing onto this one which is 3 years old!

TWO>>>>>>>>>
Sarah Bosher abt 1801 London, Middlesex, England Visitor Camberwell Surrey
View Record William Douglas abt 1827 Saffron Walden Visitor Camberwell Surrey
View Record Eliza Mary Partridge abt 1817 London, Middlesex, England Wife Camberwell Surrey
View Record Elizabeth Partridge abt 1839 London, Middlesex, England Daughter Camberwell Surrey

The first looks more likely, in view of place of residence, but of course the cert will have the father's name for cross-checking.

If William was born in 1834, he is unlikely to have married before 1851-ish.

You must have him and Elizabeth on a census to know that they married. Which census is the first on which you have them as a couple? When and where was Elizabeth born? When and where was the first child born? And what was his/her name?

Incidentally, all that will be found on line will be the names, qtr and district.............for any further details, you will have to purchase the cert

Hi again, I've just checked the LDS catalogue and they have filmed the parish records for Ely. If no one is able to help you you can order a film of the records at any LDS centre near you for a small fee. The film will stay there a month for you to search. Gwynne

Hi, You won't get a marriage certificate before July 1837. The best you can get is an entry in Parish records. To find out the bride's maiden name send for the birth certificate of one of their children. This will make the search for the marriage easier. Gwynne
