hit a brickwall looking for any info on john L anderson married elizabeth baxter on 22/04/1889, manhattan new york. would like to try to find out if elizabeth moved with her family, have a possible. census place utica, winnebago, wisconsin. fhlf 1255453. na film number t9-1453, page number 237c. unsure if this is them though. john l anderson, born 22 oct 1856 in saline fife sct, parents were david anderson and margaret livingstone/livingston, married 19 or 21 march 1853 in saline parish, fife. john was one of eight children all born in saline fife. only info i have for elizabeth is from the igi which states she was born in cumberland england, no birth year. parents were david baxter and may or mary dixon. thanks leanne x

Hi Leanne Not the US Census but this may answer at least one of your questions. John could very well have gone to the US without his parents. This looks like his widowed mother and two of his brothers and a sister from the 1881 Census cd for Scotland, Saline, Fife: Dwelling: No 4 Cowstrandburn Census Place: Saline, Fife, Scotland Source: FHL Film 0203531 GRO Ref Volume 455 EnumDist 2 Page 4 Marr Age Sex Birthplace Margaret ANDERSON W 55 F Loched, Argyll, Scotland Rel: Head Occ: Annuitant Robert ANDERSON U 26 M Saline ((Coalmacnaughton)), Fife, Scotland Rel: Son Occ: Mason Jemima M. ANDERSON U 22 F Saline, Fife, Scotland Rel: Dau Occ: Dressmaker James H. ANDERSON 15 M Saline, Fife, Scotland Rel: Son Occ: Appr Tailor --- Jemima will be the daughter of David ANDERSON and Margaret LIVINGSTON/E recorded on the IGI as Taimemi born 20 February 1859 plus Robert born 19 December 1854 and James Hugh born 13 July 1865.
