I have a birth in 1852 of William Dearden, which places his parents William and Ellen Dearden in the Moorside area of North Bury they would be aged mid 20s. They may have been living with inlaws, possibly James and Betty. Ellen's maiden name is Lace, and she was born IoM. I'm unsure if it is too difficult to access the 1851 census in this way. I have been searching on 1841 in Moorside and can find no Deardens at all. I've found several lots on 1861 but am unable to make a direct link. Any help would be most appreciated. Elaine |

Had a look through 100 folios surrouding and including Moorside but cant see the family youre looking for.I have a birth in 1850 Lancaster and another same family Westmorland 1852 so you cant place anyone anywhere.Hope you dont think i,m awful but they could have just come to stay for the birth, there are a lot of Deardens in Rochdale and Halifax. |

Thank you both Joan and Isabel. Isabel they could have been passing through but there is a William born in Bury who could be Ellen's husband. Joan, James and Betty are Deardens. It helps you can't find any Laces because that means they weren't with Ellen's family. Thank you both for the information and so much work. If 1851 is like 1841 then you both deserve a medal. Joan I have replied to your message about the images. Elaine |
