Hi. Can anyone help with the folowing. Birth of Ann Alderman abt 1805 ish. On the 1851 census she says she was born in Chalfont St Peters, but I have my doubts. Also her husband Joseph Weedon b.abt 1801. He says in Aldenham, Herts but again I have doubts. Any info appreciated. Dud. |

Dudley 1. Can you find them on 1841 census or the 1861? 2. Have you looked on www.familysearch.org? If you google 'High Wallis batch numbers' you will find a site where you can check which parishes in Herts and Bucks are covered and for which years, on the IGI [international genealogical index]. You can then search from there to the IGI info on www.familysearch.org. You don't say why you aren't convinced about their birthplaces. Do you know where they married? nell |

Hi Nell. The only reason that makes me unsure as to where they were born is that I cannot find records of christenings. Thewy were married in Isleworth, Middx, 31 Dec 1827. I'll give this High Wallis site a look. (Never heard of it before.) Many thanks for your reply. Dud. |

Dudley The IGI and VRI and any other finding tools are not necessarily complete. I wouldn't rule out either place of birth unless I had checked out the parish registers in the relevant county records office. It is always possible that either or both of these people were baptised in a nearby parish, or even in the relevant parish at a later date with a sibling, or even in a non-conformist or RC church. You may also find that the local family history society has transcribed baptism records for their area. nell |
