Can anyone look up - on the 1901 Census a Daniel Woodside born in Ireland - living in Cornwall? My Ancestry subscription has just ran out, and my friend has asked me to look up her Gt Grandad! She doesnt know who Daniel married, only that he had a son, Percy Daniel Woodside b. 1905, who married Minnie Barnecut. Would ask someone to look her up on 1901 census too, if I were REALLY cheeky???? !!!! Heres Hoping!!

Mary Daniel Woodside is not on the census, is it possible as the child was born in 1905 that Daniel could still be in Ireland??? Victor

Mary Like everyone else I haven't had much luck. The only thing I can tell you is that the Barnecut name seems to originate in Cornwall. The only family that look young enough to have had Minnie after 1901 are William and Harriet, but he was a police insprector and had moved around by the look of it and was now living in Walthamstow. Does she know Minnies parents names? Chrissie

No Chrissie! She doesnt know Minnies parents names! I found a Minnie Barnecut on 1891 census aged 11, who would be the right age for marrying our Dan the man!! Am wondering if she got mixed up with Percys mum/wife!! Stranger things have happened! (especially in my family tree!!)

Hi Mary Looks like Daniel must have arrived from Ireland sometime between the 1901 census and 1905 when his son was born.(His birth is on Ancestry) Name: Woodside, Percy Daniel Record Type: Births Quarter: March Year: 1905 District: Truro County: Cornwall Volume: 5c Page: 124 There is a medal card for a Daniel Woodside, who was a Corporal in The Duke Of Cornwall Light Infantry during WW1. I think that maybe Daniel was on the run from the IRA and changed his name!! Might as well make it up as I go along!! Think Ill post a new thread for Irish info, as Ive never come accross Irish Census. Are there any? Thanks again everyone!!
