Can anyone please do a 1861 somerset lookup...... please: Im looking for this family and this is what i have from 1871: Caroline Parfitt Head Widow 47 Pauper Born Weston Bath Mark Parfitt Son 18 Coal Miner Farmborough Louisa Caroline Parfitt Dau 12 Scholar Farmborough 2 other children but born after 1861 Mary & Joseph In 1871 they were living in farmborough Somerset, i couldnt read the street name but looks something like 'the owing' With regards to ages i would add that the mother Caroline's age does seem to change on each census sometimes she only ages 3 years out of 10. I am trying to find the father who may have been called Joseph. Thank you very much Tracey

I can only do 1851 but this does give you Joseph. Caroline Parfitt is the only one in Soms of any age. Soms 1851 Piece 1939 Farmborough Page/Folio 20/44 79 PARFITT Joseph 24 Labourer Farmborough, Som. Caroline 23 Walcot Bath Martha 1m Corston

Thank you for that robin hood (lol) I will keep hold of it in the hope it might be them. Being i have their first child born in 1853 (from 1871 census) im hoping it may well be them as the martha you found would of only been born 2 years earlier.. also both of carolines son's named one of their daughters martha.. i think its looking more likely as im typing it up :-)) Thanks again Tracey ............ ANYONE GOT THE 1861 SOMERSET CENSUS PLEASE

I have checked Farmbourgh & Clutton but no sign of your Parfitts, in 1861 Bev

Hi Bev Thank you very much for checking, how very strange i was sure they would be there as they were there all other years, especially as they had children born in 1859 and 1863 in Farmborough. Maybe they were mistranscibed or away visiting or even the norm of being abducted by aliens just for the census night. Thank you anyway, Tracey

I don't think they were mistranscribed as i looked for Carolines as well with children of the right name/age in the household. I have the same prob with my lot, cannot find them in the 1851 at all, although there are at the same address in 1841 & 1861!!! BTW i am researching Parfitts too, mine are from Stoke Lane Bev
