Find Ancestors

I have searched and searched but can't find birth of Alice Hone. She is on 1881 census as June A. Hone 5. On 1991 census as Alice Hone 15. Have found her sister Charlotte's birth date and death in 1961 at Colchester. Found death of Alice E Hone age 87 in Colchester in 1966 but makes birth dates incorrect. Can find no birth for Alice. Does anyone have any ideas please. Thanks Pam.

How incorrect are the birth dates, bearing in mind that the person informing alice/June's death may not have known the exact birth date? Is it possible she was registered just as 'female' Hone with the names added later? Hone is unusual, has it been mistranscribed in the indexes? (Mone/Wone/None etc). nell

Alternatively, if you are convinced she was born in Colchester, you can apply to the local register office to see if they have the original. nell

thanks for replies. All the children on two census were born in Poplar. I know that Alice (June?) ended up in Clacton Essex with her sister Charlotte and their mother Mary Hone (nee Webb). The deaths I have found were registered in Colchester Essex. I have just searched again but cannot find birth for Charlotte even though death of Charlotte in 1961 giving her age as 77 would be correct making her born about 1883/84. So very confusing. Children born before these two are listed correctly. I was taken to visit Alice and Charlotte when I was very small so know they do exist. Thanks for all help. It is really appreciated. Happy Easter. THANKS FOR REPLY VICTOR. I THINK THAT DATE IS TOO FAR OUT. I HAVE THEIR TWO BROTHERS BORN 1875 AND 1879 POPLAR. CHARLOTTE AND ALICE MISSING. GEORGE AND JOHN WEBB (STEPSONS) LISTED AND THEN 4 CHILDREN BY GEORGE AND MARY HONE ALL WITH BIRTH DATES KNOWN TO ME. ALL VERY ODD. THANKS AGAIN. PAM.
