Hi, I'm looking for - in 1861 Robert Brand b Edinburgh c 1829 Jane(t)? Brand b. Doncaster c 1831 Have them in 1871 living in Little Shambles, York They're not in York in 1851 (Jools kindly looked for me), but hope they are there in 1861 as there is a daughter on 1871 listed as born in York Hope all this makes sense Any help would be gratefully appreciated. I am so sorry, but they are not in Little Shambles in 1861 either Linda

Christine - I have an 1861 index for most of york and they aren't on there. According to the 1871 Bessy was born Cumberland (Keswick or Kendal, I can't remember which now and I've closed the page) but Ellen who was born York is only 10, so she may not have been born in time for the census.
