I have recently received marriage cert, which states they were married at St Johns Waterloo in the County of Surrey, I cannot read the place of residence, no road or street, it just looks like Sutton House, has anyone heard of this place please Regards Shirley |

Well, as you probably know there is definitely a Sutton in Surrey, but 'Sutton House' sounds like some grand house???No other details at all? |

Hi Kay, The names are Thomas Richard Bayley (concertina maker) and Emma Jane Williams marriage date 25.12.1867, and residence looks like Sutton House, no number, street or road. Regards Shirley |

Hi Heather, It definately looks like Sutton House (even tried with a magnifying glass), he was a concertina maker so don't think it would be one of the posh houses. Regards Shirley |

Ive tried to find them on the 1871 census, hoping they would have same addy, but cant see them at mo. Do you have either of their fathers names on the cert? Then you could check them out for the address? on the 1871 or 61? |

Hi Heather, I think and I do only think I have found on the 1871 John J Bayley (brewers servant), stated on marriage cert as (brewer) Thomas Bayley's father, along with wife Sarah, their children and my gg mother living at 125 St Georges Road, Camberwell. Thomas Bailey looks like he is a baker - not a concertina maker now, living with wife Jane (not Emma Jane) and son Thomas at 127 St Georges Road Camberwell, which could make sense, maybe. Her father's name was Douglas Williams (engineer) I have tried to trace him on the 1861,1871 etc, but with no luck, even tried the witnesses who were Thos Williams and Elizabeth Williams I am sure wherever they are they are all having a good laugh at our expense. Regards Shirley |
