I cannot find him in Norfolk at all, on parish records or census, so I am hoping the family all moved to Greenwich area where James married in 1856. |

His father's name was George and he was a Bootmaker. I am guessing he may have been a Norfolk man as this is where James was born. When he was married in 1856, James lived at Artillery Place Woolwich. He married an Elizabeth Carson and I have marriage certificate. I have them on the 1861 census living in Perry Street Bromley. By 1871 James is not with Elizabeth and she is head but still married. Someone has recently suggested connections with the Horse Artillery, because of the address. Thanks to anyone who may be able to help. Alice |

It does sound like he was a Woolwich Barracks Alice There is a site which tells you where certain regiments were at dates - I think Peter Walker gave it to me once. Worth contacting him? |
