Got info I needed from 1871 cencus from some kind helpers but now need to find my family member earlier to see if he with his parents. I'm looking for William Turton born HALE, LANCASHIRE In 1844. He would have been 17 in 1861 or 7 in 1851. Thanks Janet Marsden.

Hi 1861 census William Turton Head 56 Farmer of 64 acres employing 4 labourers Hulme Ellen Wife 54 Woolton James son Unm 23 Joiner Edward son Unm 21 Teamsman William son Unm 17 Farmers son Elizabeth dau Unm 19 Dairymaid Ellen dau Unm 15 Scholar Ann Dau 10 Henry Sutton Grandson 1 Mary Young Visitor Unm 16 Nurse Living at Pepper Street Hale Ref RG9/ 2739 14b Is this my good deed for the day ? Thanks Barbara, yes that's my family. You have indeed done a very very good deed cos you have found out who my Gt Gt Grandparents and family where. I visited Hale on Sunday and got quite a few Turton names from graves and couldn't match them to my family but now will be able to with the names you have give from the cencus returns.
