I have posted this message on one of my treads too so if you see it again sorry. To everyone who has helped me I am sorry if I came across wrong. I am not a bad person who just wants now and if thats the way I looked sorry. This was just a new hobby I found with no money to travel and a baby who has just learned how to sleep through the night. I think I shall give it up as a bad job. but thanks for all your help I sincerely mean it. Thanks again Zoe

Zoe You are learning, don't worry. You won't be able to give up, this hobby is seriously addictive. But you will need to do as I do and plan your time/money carefully. I found myself resenting the fact that the kids go back to their schools the same day that I do - I thought I had a day without them when I could nip off to a records office! nell

Zoe I'm sure you haven't upset anyone and I'm sorry if my reply on your other thread seemed a little harsh, it wasn't meant to be. Don't give up, we all come across brickwalls like this, just try following another family line for a while. Unfortunately at some point, without looking at parish records you will probably get stuck on them all, there is no other way sometimes. Good luck Sam

Hi Zoe Your baby sleeps......you luck thing. My first son didn't sleep till he was 6... Send me a private mail and I will see what I can do to help you.....Im fully recovered from my operation, but I am going to be away in Ireland from Monday for 9 days. At my local Family History Society there are a lot of records relating to other associations ( I only joined yesterday......so I feel teribbly guilty for all the requests I have made on this site, but we all learn new things with a bit of help from time to time) Also please join rootschat, it's free to register and is fantastic, there are seperate sites for countie's etc. (I only found this today). It's a bit tricky to use at first, but you will soon get the hang of it. Gem

One that I use a lot is Genuki http://www.genuki.org.uk/ It doesn't have any info about individuals, but it has a wealth of info about places, church records, workhouses, occupations etc etc etc. and where you can find out more. nell

Hi Zoe, I've not noticed anyone struggling on the boards ... I'm sorry you feel bad, but don't take anything to heart. The problem with the written word is that it can be misinterpretated ...(which is why we get loads of mistranscriptions !! (LoL) Don't give up sweetheart, have a day/night off, and come back refreshed. We're all here to help each other ! Elaine :-)

Hi Zoe, It gets to all of us sometimes. I've added to your other thread, I hope you saw it. Genealogy is a very expensive hobby, I hate to think How much I've spent! Gwynne

Zoe, I don't mind looking up stuff for you on Ancestry, goodness knows how many people have helped me. If I can give some of that back it would be my pleasure. Not sure what the problem is, but don't be disheartened. I was just about to give up when someone helped me about 2 years ago and my family came to life. Good luck. Susan
