Hi. I am looking for Edward Legassick / Leggassick. He was born c1829 South Brent-Devon. In 1851 census he was living with his parents George & Jane in Walkhampton. In 1871 census he was with his wife Eliza living at St. Mary's Church-Devon. Any information would be much appreciated. Thankyou Alyson

I have looked for this family before in both the places you mention. On the 1871 census it shows daughter Jessie age 9 born in Plymouth, so there's a good chance they they were there in 1861. With no name index for Plymouth, this would be a pretty long search I'm afraid. Hopefully it won't be long before this is available on 1837 online. I'm sorry I can't help you further, but don't give up on it! Sara

Thankyou Sara. I have requested a lookup a few times (in hope ).I cannot find any information on the family except for 1871 census and both Edward and Eliza's deaths in 1873 and 1874. I have birth ranges for Jessie between 1859 and 1864 ( different censuses)so i thought that if she was on the 1861 census it would narrow down my search for her birth cert . All census says she was born in Plymouth unyet Plymouth registry cannot find her. Regards Alyson
