I have been searching on 1837 and elsewhere for well over a year for a marriage between Harry Smith and Martha Spencer in the Nottinghamshire area. I have just been clearing out my in box and found a message where someone had suggested asking for a BIVR lookup. I'm afraid I don't know how how BIVR works, so would I be asking the impossible with 2 such common names? I have very little information other than their second child was born in May 1904. I finally had my first breakthrough last week and found Marthas death. She would have been about 23 in 1901. You would guess at a marriage between 1893 and 1903 but I just can't find one. I know that her fathers name was Spencer, so it's not because she had been married before. Would a BIVR lookup help me? All suggestions gratefully recieved (apart from clear off:)))). Chrissie |
