Jess Do you mean there is a marriage, 9 months from census day and you're being asked to look this up before the certificate has arrived? It would probably be as quick to search the Liberty of Saffron Hill frame by frame. Mind you, I think this is the area where the poor enumerator keeps on saying 'lodger took census form with him'! |

Jess, I am really sorry this is causing you such a headache it was my request and I was hoping to get a birth place for Alfred other than just Italy which is says on 1881 & 1891. He started out as an Icecream maker on marriage certif no details given about his father unfortunately,by 1881 census he was as you found a Hawker and by 1891 a chaff cutter/carpet beater. Without birthplace I am unable to trace back any further in Italy.Hence the request. Really sorry this is such a nightmare I've been struggling with him for years every census gives a different DOB. Really don't worry about him he seems to have dissappeared census night 1871 Thanks everyone. Jess I cant seem to find the thread for your previous message and am not sure how to nudge to gain info on Mary Cochrane/Fitzgerald. Jenny |
