If he's alive in 1871, then surely he's alive in 1861?

Hello Linda Thank you for replying to my request. Sorry about this confusion - having enlarged the address as much as I can on 1871 census page, it looks like Moody St, township of Bowling, municipal borough of Bradford, ecclesiastic district of St Lukes. The enumerator's writing is very curly and difficult to decipher. If it's too big an ask, I do understand. Thanks very much anyway. Tracy - I obviously confused the issue mentioning James! James wasn't alive on the 1871 census: I got the info about him partly from his daughter Margaret's marriage certificate (1887) and partly from an IGI reference I think is for James' marriage to Jane, who is shown as a widow on 1871. Thanks to you both for replying so quickly. Barbara

I am sorry, but they are not in Moody Street. There are 249 seperate pages for Bowling, so I can't look through them all. Linda
