Hi all, if anyone has this census i would much appreciate a look up in Treeton (nr Rotherham) or Attercliffe in Sheffield for my Thomson Family. Head is Henry, wife Ann. Daughter Sarah Ann should be aged around 3. Think there are siblings called Moses, Eliza and Ellen. I have them in 71 living at Carbrook Place, Bright Street in Attercliffe but with no Moses. Many Thanks in advance, Claire

Hi Robin, According to Sarah A's birth cert it is Mozley. Could end up being misspelt as Mosley. Thanks again, Claire

Here is the first one Piece 1330 ED7 Page 2 Aughton William Thompson. 40 Yrs Ag Lab. Hannah 30 Yrs, Henry 14 Yrs, Jane 4 Yrs, Thomas 10months. All b Yorks nb Henry is the only one of that name in Aughton from the Rotherham area Index and I have checked the names against the scan.Thompson is spelt with a 'P' I cannot find Ann in Ulley. There are two Mosley's, William 12 Yrs and Elizabeth 10 Yrs living with a Farmer, Joseph White. The only Ann Mosley listed is 20Yrs in Kimberworth and too old. Perhaps she is in Service elsewhere. I will have a look at 1851 later and get back if I find anything..

Hi Robin, I am pretty sure this is the correct Henry. The surname is Thompson, it is me that has typed it wrong as Thomson. I appreciate all your help. Regards, Claire

Sorted I think. Ulley is a very small village but is split onto two Pieces 10 numbers away! 1841 Piece 1339/14 ED 5 Page 10 William Mozley 30 Yrs Ag Lab Not b County Charlotte. 30 Yrs, Ann 8 Yrs, William 6 Yrs, John 1 Yr all b Yorks 1851 Piece 3343 Folio 105 Has the above family in Ulley, minus Ann. In addition are Elizabeth 8 Yrs, James 5Yrs, Jane 3 Yrs Henry 5 Months. William Mozley is born Normanton Derbys and all the children are born Ulley. Next door on both census are Thomas/Mary Mozley with family. Thomas is 3 yrs older than William and also b Derbys. Possibly brothers.
