Hi, I wondered if anyone knows how I can get info on Thomas Twyman born 1810 in Sturry Kent. He married someone called Mary. I have census details from 1861 onwards. Is it possible to trace his parents names anywhere. Thanks Zoe No one seems to reply to my messages feel all left out and I am getting frustrated because I don't know what else to do somebody please help. I have been on family search and he is not there. Well Typical Zoe |

Hi Zoe, I think your best bet would be to have a look at the parish records. Paula x |

Zoe If he's not on familysearch you will need to look in the parish registers for his baptism. The registers will be in the relevant county records office, or alternatively, you can see if the local family history society has done a transcript for the period you want. nell |

Dear Zoe, I have ordered a list of Kent Family History Society's microfiches that they sell, and when it comes, if Sturry is on there I will let you know so that you can order a microfiche of the parish records. I am in a similar situation because one branch of my family came from Kent and the parish is not on the IGI but I live in Nottinghamshire. Kate. |

Zoe - Have a look at this website and see if it is any help: http (://) freepages (.) genealogy (.) rootsweb (.) com (/) ~cyanda (/) page10 (.) html remove brackets and spaces or just type Sturry Twyman into Google and it should be the third one on the list. Can't see Thomas on there yet, but these might be some of his relatives? - Actually, there is a Thomas born 1808 on there, could be him (number 17) And if you click on 'home page' and look at the bottom of it there is an email address to contact, perhaps they can give you more info? At the bottom of the first page of Google results there is a Kent Surname Interest list and there are a few entries for Twyman with contacts on as well. Kate. |

Zoe Sturry doesn't appear on the list of parishes transcribed for the IGI. The Sturry village home page at Kent Resources says the Kent Family History Society has the parish regisisters on fiche for purchase. So in the (unlikely) event that the Thomas Twyman Kate found for you at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb(.)com/~cyanda/page10.html is not your man the next step would be to contact the Kent Society. and even if he is you will want to check the references. My local library lets me use the fiche readers to view my fiches, no problem. dave |

There is a Kent OPC, I don't think Sturry is covered but keep checking back there, as more people are volunteering all the time. |
