I have relatives from Caithness, Scotland who moved to Southwold Suffolk and built and lived in Caithness house St. James Green, Southwold. If I'm correct the surnames should be Spence. I'm afraid I have no idea of year but probably 1800 or before. Any advice would be geat, thankyou Chelle

Hi Chelle, When a house is bought and sold all of the deeds are usually kept together and lodged with the solicitors of the person who now owns the house. The local history section of the library for that area may have some information if it was an important house. Jeanette x
