I am trying to trace my 2x great Grandfather (again!) I have census returns for him fo 1871, 1881, 1891 and 1901. From 1881 - 1901 he gives his birthplace as Ridge, Hertfordshire. But in 1871 he gives his birthplace Greenwich, Kent. I haven't been able to find a birth for him in either place but am curious to see if he is in Greenwich with his parents at an earlier date. His name is Frederick Lock and was born c1839 Thanks Jeanette x
