Dear Friends, I did some research into the name Colbourn and apparently the earliest record is found in York dated 1100. Can anybody confirm that for me? York was apparently the Danish capital of England around this time and a form of the name still exists in Denmark today: Kohlbjorn or something like that. I belong to a branch of the Colbourns from North London is that the case for anybody else? Thanks for any help, David. |

My Great grandmother was a Colborn / Colborne and perhaps even your spelling of Colbourn. Likewise, any information would be helpful, even if it eliminates wrong leads. |
