look up for birth in Sussex 1845c

As registration wasn't compulsory until 1875, it is more than likely that the birth was not registered..................

Hi Margaret, If you have his christening date it shouldn't be too expensive trying to find him on 1837online and then you would have the full registration details for the certificate. Paul

Please can anyone help me get birth cert for Stephen George Ruff born about 1845 Clapham Sussex. He married age 25 on 25/09/1870. In Vital Records Index I found christening 20/04/1845 for a Stephen George Ruffe with the E added But still nead a precise number to order a cert. or can anyone advise me of another option. I have already obtained a cert. but that was for a Stephen George Ruff from Clapham London. Thanks Margaret
